Fashion Faux Pas according to you, Toronto!

Hey Toronto!

Our fabulous intern, Daniela,  took a moment to ask some people on the streets what their “fashion faux pas” were and here are just some of the responses she collected:

“Short pants, and high socks – no! Please, no. I just am not a fan of socks and sandals. It doesn’t feel right to me. “ – Christine, 19

“If your tie is an inch (or more) above or below your belt, we have a problem.”

“I think one major thing to keep in mind is general hygiene. Keep clean and looking fresh. Make sure facial hair is under control, and make an effort to smell nice. But not so strong that people can smell you coming from around the corner.”

“Belt that doesn’t match your shoes” – Aleks, 22

“I find a lot of fashion no-no’s have to do with the belt. A must is having a belt anytime your shirt it tucked in, or with your dress pants. Makes for a clean image” – Muneer, 21

“Colours are great, but I personally wouldn’t want to look like a rainbow walking around either. Make sure they match and compliment one another. Too much mix-match of patterns is also a lot to take in, and generally makes me a little dizzy. I would say, too much “pizzazz” is a no-no.” – Maria, 39

“For a business professional, or even casual environment, a V-neck that is too low…is just TOO much.” – Victoria, 20

“When men wear too many accessories” – Anonymous

“Wearing clothes that don’t fit – to the point where you can fit another person in there. Don’t do that.” – Chris, 23

“Sneakers and dress pants.” – Bobby, 47

“ I’d say stripped shirt and a stripped tie is a no-no in my books. Just mixing patterns gets to be a little too much sometimes. Like, a plaid suit and a stripped tie – I personally don’t like that.”    – Kevin, 21
